Five stars, possibly six, but I assume the council would require planning permission. Caversham Butcher has permanently ruined supermarket chicken for me. Their chicken supremes are not just “supreme”, they are Diana Ross and all of her backing singers. Structurally magnificent, skin on, deep in colour. I have hiked miles on the off chance that a discounted bag is waiting for me in the display. Peak cardio for peak poultry. By midday the counter is usually stripped bare, and by closing time some of us are hovering with unreasonable optimism, asking if there might be “just one more breast out back.” The staff always stay calm; they understand. What an amazing exerience. I ordered 2 steaks in the middle of the night, got a phobe call the next morning advising i may have chosen the wrong dates (to which i did). The gent confirmed that the order would be with me within a few hours. Within 2 hours a gorgeous piece of sirloin was delivered and followed up with a courtesy phone call. The meat was gorgeous and wish id ordered more out of greed.
